Who are volunteers?
NewSpring volunteers are members of the church who work together to serve our church body and others in the community to advance the Kingdom for Jesus.

How do I volunteer at NewSpring Church?
Become a member of the church (see the Commit section for Membership information), check out the volunteer teams below and complete a Volunteer application so we can know a little bit more about you. Fill this one out if you already know which team you want to serve with or use this form if you're not certain yet. What opportunities are available?
NewSpring has six areas of ministry that are made up of multiple volunteer teams who serve on Sundays and during the week. Sign up for one of the teams below and someone will contact you about your next step.
Guest Services (more details)
Greeting Team
Welcome guests from the parking lot to the auditorium.
Time Commitment: 45 minutes before and 10 minutes after a service, every week or every other week
Age Requirement: 12 years old
Information Team
Provide details about NewSpring Church to the guests at each service.
Time Commitment: 45 minutes before and 10 minutes after a service, every week or every other week
Age Requirement: 18 years old
Usher Team
Guide people to the nearest available seat in a quick and orderly fashion, and take up the offering.
Time Commitment: 45 minutes before a service and the last 5 minutes of the service, every week or every other week
Age Requirement: 18 years old
Parking Team
Welcome and direct guests to a parking place, and keep traffic flowing smoothly.
Time Commitment: 1 hr on Sunday, every week or every other week
Age Requirement: 18-years-old
Volunteer Headquarters Team
Assist volunteers with check-in, help them through the plug-in process, and ensure that all volunteers feel welcomed and appreciated.
Time Commitment: 1.25 hours on Sunday, every week or every other week
Age Requirement: 18 years old
Awake Coffee Team
Assist attendees with beverages and sweet snack choices.
Time Commitment: 5-hour AM or PM shift once every three weeks (during the shift you are still able to attend a service)
Age Requirement: 16 years old
Security Team
Secure our children's areas, oversee general meeting places, and be on-hand for any situations that may arise.
Time Commitment: 2 services on Sunday (either AM or PM), twice a month
Age Requirement: 21 years old
Resource Center Team
Assist guests with sermon series, books, and other merchandise.
Time Commitment: 45 minutes before and 20 minutes after a Sunday service.
Age Requirement: 18 years old
Facility Cleaning Team
Maintain the clean and excellent appearance of our facilities on Sundays.
Time Commitment: 1 hour on Sunday, every week or every other week
Age Requirement: 12 years old
Atrium Design Team
Time Commitment: About every 4-8 weeks with opportunities during the day and in the evening for any amount of time
Age Requirements: 12 years old
Office Team
Support every area of ministry by making phone calls, stuffing envelopes, organizing supplies or completing a number of administrative tasks.
Time Commitment: Anytime 9am-5pm weekdays, or during a Sunday service
Age Requirement: 18 years old

Creative & Technical Arts (more details)
Production Team
Run computers, cameras, teleprompters, and record the service. Also maintain Sunday schedules and care for the volunteers.

From operating cameras and sound to trouble-shooting computer issues, the Creative and Technical Arts teams use their skills in media production and technology to keep NewSpring Church on the cutting edge.
Care & Outreach (more details)
Weekday Prayer Team
Pray throughout the week for the prayer requests received on Sunday.
Time Commitment: 1 hour throughout the week
Age Requirement: 18 years old
Weekday Care Team
Reach out to others in a variety of ways - take meals to families who have lost loved ones or who have members experiencing illness and talk with people who have requested to speak with a NewSpring Care Team member.
Time Commitment: One hour throughout the week. For certain areas of the team the nature of the opportunity requires your schedule to be flexible enough to serve when called upon.
Age Requirement: 18 years old
Handyman Team
Extend the love of Christ to the community of Anderson in a variety of ways - add ramps to homes of wheelchair-bound individuals, paint and clean up houses, and work on other projects as they arise.
Time Commitment: 4-5 hours per event, once or twice a month

Membership & Groups (more details)
Membership Assimilator
Speak with individuals at membership classes to assess their understanding of the church covenants and requirements for membership. Enjoy talking with potential members about their salvation experience and background.
Time Commitment: Three hours on a week/weekend evening, once or twice a month.
Age Requirement: 21 years old.
Groups Leader
Be dedicated to lead other people by spending one night of the week leading a small group of people in fellowship, Bible study and prayer.
Time Commitment: 1.5 hours on a week/weekend evening, once a week
Age Requirement: 18 years old
NewSpring Membership & Groups volunteers enable individuals to find their place in our church. Greeting and speaking in-depth with potential members or leading small groups in their homes, these people are in the business of creating connections. Children's Ministry (more details)
Playhouse (6 weeks - 5 years old)
Lead NewSpring's nursery, preschool and grade school children in relevant, age-appropriate activities and lessons.
Time Commitment: Two hours on Sunday
Age Requirement: 18 years old (there are opportunities to assist in these rooms for volunteers in the 6th grade - 17 years old)
KidSpring
Actors, worship leaders, and media technicians.
Time Commitment: 2 hours on Sunday and some practice during the week.
Age Requirement: 16 years old
KidSpring First Impressions
Check-in, first time escort, children's advocate, mascot, and service leader volunteers make up this ministry.
Time Commitment: 45 minutes on Sunday, every week or every other week
Age Requirement: 18 years old/21 years old
Spring Zone (Special Needs Ministry)
Serve by shadowing a special needs child that may require a little extra help in their age appropriate classroom, or work in a self contained classroom with another volunteer and one or two special needs children.
Time Commitment: 1.5 hours on Sunday, every week or every other week
Age Requirement: 18 years old
Children’s Ministry teams exist to unveil God’s love to the children and families of NewSpring Church. Volunteers serve on Sunday mornings with 6-week olds to 5th graders or during the week by following up with first time guests. Student Ministry (more details)
Small Group Leader/Co-Leader
Lead and assist in small group discussions, discipleship and development of relationships with our High School and Middle School students. A co-leader is someone who can only make a short-term investment in student’s lives (less than 18-24 months).
Time Commitment: 3 hrs every Wednesday night (5:30-8:30pm) or Friday night (8:30-11:30pm) & weekly time with your group (live life together)
Age Requirement: Middle School (at least a Junior in High School)
High School (one year out of High School)

Guest Services Team
Creates the experience for students on a Wednesday night (greeting, check-in, usher, set up/tear down, pick-up duty, parking, etc)
Time Commitment: 3 hrs every Wednesday night (5:30-8:30pm) or Friday night (8:30-11:30pm)
Age Requirement: Middle School (at least a Junior in High School)
High School (one year out of High School)

Connections Team
Connect with students by serving in the Fuse Building throughout the week in a specific area – gym, game room, lounge, check-in or snack bar.
Time Commitment: one 2-3 hr shift a week (Tues, Wed, or Fri)
Age Requirement: at least a Junior in High School

Snack Bar Team
Serve students drinks, food and candy in the Fuse building.
Time Commitment: one 2-3 hr shift a week (Tues, Wed, or Fri)

Student Production
Take the worship experience to another level by running computers, cameras, teleprompter, recording the service or maybe even running some lighting effects.

This ministry is for volunteers who have a heart to see High School and Middle School students grow and fall in love with Jesus daily. Student Ministry teams serve during the Wednesday night student gathering, Fuse, and the yearly summer retreat, The Gauntlet.
