This week, during our skit, Tess Trailrider and Cowboy Billy discovered the importance of having courage. Cowboy Billy got selected to go ahead and scout out the land they were heading to with the cows On the Trail. The land was full of green pastures and fruit trees. One of the best things about the land was that there were no mosquitos! Unfortunately, to get to the beautifully awesome land, Cowboy Billy and the rest of the crew would have to travel through the “badlands” where there was no grass and no fruit trees and lots of mosquitos. Cowboy Billy was not excited about traveling through the badlands, but with the help of a story from God’s Word, gained the courage to press on.Our Bible story and everything we did today in small group, pointed to the importance of having courage when we are afraid. God promises to always be with us.
This Week At Home
When your child has trouble facing a certain fear, remind them of God’s promise to never leave them. Pray together and discuss how God was with Joshua and Caleb giving them the courage. God can give them courage to overcome their fear, too!

Memory Verse: “‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ says the Lord. ‘They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. In those days when you pray, I will listen. If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me. ’” Jeremiah 29:11

Promises are special to children. Whether they make a promise or someone makes a promise to them there is always a choice involved. You can choose to believe the promise or not. It is the same with God’s promises, we choose to believe or not to believe. Our goal this week was to teach your children that God promises them eternal life and its their choice whether or not to accept it or believe it. Psalm 146:6 “God always keeps His promises”,
This Week At Home
Take time to discuss some of the promises God has given. Look up the following promises in the Bible: Proverbs 8:17, Psalm 46:1, Proverbs 1:33.
The best thing you can do for your family is to be an example! Reward and praise your child when he or she applies what they’ve learned. We can’t wait to see you On the Trail this coming Sunday!
