If you’ve been waiting to invite people to church to learn more about Jesus, there isn’t a better opportunity than Easter.
After eating their own bodyweight in chocolate eggs or dressing up in a bunny outfit for their kids, who wouldn’t ask themselves “What’s with all the fuss about Easter anyway?”
Our series The Gospel, which starts Easter Sunday, will present the Good News in an unforgettable way. We’ll have three identical services at 11:15 and 6 p.m. EST and 11 a.m. Pacific.
Here are five ways you can start a conversation or invite people to go to church online at the NewSpring Web Campus.
No. 1. Share the link to the NewSpring Web Campus using your favorite social networks like Twitter, Facebook, and MySpace. You could include a message like this: “I’m celebrating Easter at church on the web. Check out the NewSpring Web Campus. http://bit.ly/Sddd.”
No. 2. Post a link to our Easter promo video on your social network profile, make it your status or blog about it ... That will give folks something to talk about….
No. 3. Got a big screen TV? Got a laptop? Throw an Easter party by inviting folks to view the Web Campus service in your home. Maybe they’ll bring you a chocolate egg?
No. 4. Make your IM status a link to the Web Campus Easter service and ask someone to open a private IM with you so you can chat during a web campus worship service. No one can stop you.
No. 5. Send a video email or regular email or make the NewSpring Web Campus Easter Service or Easter Promo video link your email signature. Not everyone’s a social networker. Plus, it’s way more special for your family and friends to get a personal invite.
All of us know what it’s like to be in a financial mess. Maybe you’ve rented your TV, your furniture and your dog. Or maybe you’re upside down on your car. One way or the other, you’ve gotten a case of what Joe Sangl, our pastor of financial planning calls, “Stuffitis.”
If you want to live in financial freedom, Joe can help.
He’s offering all Web Campus attenders an opportunity to take his Financial Learning Experience class FREE on the NewSpring Web Campus on Tuesday, Sept. 15 at 7 p.m.
If you attend the class, you’ll have a chance to sign up for FREE one-on-one counseling from Joe’s team and:
* Develop a plan for one’s life
* Create a budget that works
* Eliminate debt
* Calculate debt freedom date
* Calculate amount needed for retirement
* Power of compound interest
We want you to live debt free so you can respond to God’s call on your life. We want you to provide a future for your children. We want you to honor God in every financial decision you make.
Join us if you can. And if you can’t at least check out the resources on Joe’s site.
They were taking pictures and video of every single nook and cranny of our campus here in Greenville and asking plenty of questions during the early Unleash registration on Wednesday. We saw more than 100 people from all over, such as Florida, Oklahoma and North Carolina. Staff and volunteers showed what we have to offer from KidSpring to the technology in our auditorium. Not only did we see churches, but some techies from Oklahoma City were here to check out what’s going on. If you missed Unleash this year, make sure you’re here in 2010!
If you’re worshiping online, chances are your life doesn’t fit the usual Sunday morning schedule.
Or maybe you are a global attender in a time zone many hours removed from Eastern.
Whatever your personal situation, we think you’ll like the new Sunday 11 a.m. Pacific Time (2 p.m. Eastern Time) service we’re starting March 15. We think it will now be easier for all our campus attenders to attend worship at a time that suits them. But we think our West Coast friends will be especially happy.
The new service brings to three the number of Sunday worship opportunities at the NewSpring Web Campus. The others are at 11:15 a.m. and 6 p.m. EST.
We’re always looking at ways to expand the reach of our services. If you’re interested in being part of a launch team for a service better suited to the time zone you live in, please let us know by emailing Web Campus Pastor Nick Charalambous at .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address).
A little snow storm can’t stop NewSpring from worshiping!
As about four inches of snow fell during the 6 p.m. service, several NewSpringers rocked the house and heard Perry’s powerful series “I Want a New Marriage.” Perry was pumped that people still made it to the Greenville service!
Volunteers, 77 of them in fact, braved the roads to come and serve. And they gave out coffee and met guests with umbrellas.
Catherine Powell, volunteer director, says some of them are just nuts – joking around of course. “Volunteers are completely on board with having people come to hear about Jesus,” she says. “It shows they care more about others than themselves.”
Although Fuse was canceled, many still came to show their support. And the band was ready to tear it up on the stage. One couple even watched the web campus and drove to the 6 p.m. service to get their rose and renew their vows.
When it was over, everyone helped each other get out of the parking lot, from scraping windows to directing traffic, so they could get back on the road to head home. We know many of you couldn’t drive due to worsening conditions, but what a wonderful testament to the church and its members who could make it out in the weather no matter what!
When we launched the NewSpring Web Campus, our hope was that it would give people a way to attend a worship service no matter where they live while still making it possible to have a rich, shared experience of Christ with others.
A big part of that vision is for people all across the world to use the Web Campus service to offer a worship service in a home or other small venue to reach people who might not otherwise feel comfortable attending church and who together can form a supportive community of faith.
That’s why I’m pumped that our Web Campus video producer Will Rodes has produced an awesome guide to help you hook up your computer to your big screen TV. We think that it will help you more fully experience the power of the worship service and make it possible for multiple people to participate in the experience in greater comfort.
In addition, you’ll have the typical resources that a home church can provide, such as access to pastoral guidance and lots of opportunities for spiritual growth in connections with other believers.
Whether you are interested in serving as an official Web Campus “viewing hosts” or whether you just want to gather the family for worship in the living room, we’d love to help you and we’d love to hear your stories.
Just send in your writing, photos or videos (or links to them) to me, Web Campus Pastor Nick Charalambous, at .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)! We’ll post them on this blog.
